An overcrowded passenger boat carrying more than 80 people capsized in northern Bangladesh today after being hit by a small ferry, leaving at least 38 people dead and several missing, police said.

An overcrowded passenger boat carrying more than 80 people capsized in northern Bangladesh today after being hit by a small ferry, leaving at least 38 people dead and several missing, police said.

Rescuers recovered 38 bodies from the capsized boat in the Daira river in Kishoreganj district, police Chief Anwar Hossain said. The area is 50 miles north of Dhaka.
