An Afghan police official said the death toll from a suicide bombing in western Afghanistan was 13.

An Afghan police official said the death toll from a suicide bombing in western Afghanistan was 13.

Chief of police of Farah province, General Mohammad Faqir Askar, said the suicide bomber was on a motorcycle and blew himself up in a crowded square near a bus station. Thirty people were wounded.

Gen Askar said the dead included one police officer and many of the wounded were children.

Provincial governor Rohul Amin said today's deadly blast occurred about 50 metres from his compound.
