15 killed in Mexican border violence
Fifteen people, including a child, three women and a university professor, have been killed in a single day in the violent Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez, authorities said today.
State prosecutor’s spokesman Arturo Sandoval said that a seven-year-old boy was travelling with his father in a pickup truck when gunmen opened fire on Friday killing them both.
Mr Sandoval said three women were shot to death in two separate incidents and that a university professor was killed in a residential area.
Mr Sandoval said that another nine men were killed in six separate incidents.
Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas, is Mexico’s deadliest city with more than 1,700 killings so far this year.
