War crimes trial appoints lawyer for Karadzic

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic had a lawyer appointed on his behalf for his war crimes trial today.

The court ruled that Karadzic, who says he will conduct his own defence but has been boycotting hearings, will be represented by the lawyer whenever he fails to appear.
