Broadcaster Patrick Hannan, dubbed the “doyen of the Welsh journalists”, has died following a short illness. He was 68.

The son of an Irish doctor who migrated to Wales in the 1930s, Mr Hannan's career began in the 1960s and he became the industrial editor of the Western Mail newspaper.
