Tory leader David Cameron said today he would “go on pushing” for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, and dismissed suggestions of a split with London Mayor Boris Johnson over the issue.

Mr Johnson last night stirred the row again, warning that it would be “difficult” to hold a referendum if it had already come into force.
