Earthquake strikes near Tonga

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Tonga today, the US Geological Survey said.

It said the quake occurred about 151 miles north-north east of Tonga, and 234 miles south west of Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa.

No tsunami warning was issued.
