Violence erupts between rival protestors in Tehran

Thousands of Iranian anti-government protesters clashed with hard-liners on the streets of Tehran today as marches turned into running battles.

Opposition protesters, chanting "death to the dictator", hurled stones and bricks in clashes with security forces firing tear gas.
