Obama urges Congress to back health care reform

President Barack Obama today urged the US Congress to enact sweeping health care legislation, declaring the "time for bickering is over" and the moment has arrived to help millions who have insurance and many more without it.

His nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress comes as Mr Obama's popularity is falling, opposition Republicans are on the attack and his fellow Democrats are divided about what kind of plan to pursue.
