Lawyers for detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi said today a Burmese court had accepted their request to appeal against the conviction that extended the democracy leader’s house arrest by 18 months.

Lawyer Nyan Win said the Divisional Court in Rangoon has scheduled the appeal for September 18.
