Jaycee 'getting to know her family'

Kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard’s aunt said today her niece remembered her family and was getting to know her younger sister, who was just a baby when she was kidnapped 18 years ago.

Tina Dugard told reporters today she was there for Dugard’s reunion with her mother and sister along with Miss Dugard’s two daughters authorities say were fathered by her alleged abductor.

The family has been spending the days since Miss Dugard reappeared last week reconnecting with one another and getting to know each other again.

Tina Dugard said her grandnieces appeared educated and praised her niece for being resourceful despite her own limited education.

Authorities said Miss Dugard and her daughters were held captive in Phillip Garrido’s back yard and did not attend school.
