An official newspaper said 200 children have been sickened with lead poisoning in southwest China, the third report of such cases in the country this month.

The China Daily reported today that the children, who make up nearly a fifth of the 1,000 children in a township in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, were found to have excessive levels of lead in their blood.
