Three killed in helicopter crash near Tehran

Three people were killed when a training helicopter crashed near the Iranian capital, Tehran, state television reported today.

Local official Mohammad Ali Erfanmanesh said the helicopter crashed on farmland some 30 miles south-west of Tehran.

Mr Erfanmanesh, governor of a town close to the crash site, said the case is under investigation. He did not identify the type of helicopter or the identities of those who were killed.

Three policemen were killed earlier this month in a helicopter crash in south-east Iran.
