Five killed in Paris blaze
Firefighters say a fire in a housing project in a Paris suburb has killed five people and left 29 injured.
A Paris fire department spokesman says two children and three adults died in the blaze that broke out in a stairwell before dawn today in a 10-storey building in the suburb of Sevran.
Firefighters rescued a further 18 people from the building.
The administrative headquarters for the Seine-Saint Denis region north-east of Paris says 15 of those hurt were taken to hospital, and that about 100 firefighters were called to the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
