Teen attacked by gang brandishing snakes

A teenager in the UK was bitten by a snake during an attack by a gang armed with the reptiles, it emerged today.

The 14-year-old was bitten on the hand after he was set upon by the group who were “brandishing snakes”, the ambulance service said.

The boy was pinned against a wall by his attackers in Bristol yesterday afternoon, before one made the python sink its fangs into him.

An ambulance service spokesman said today: “Ambulance staff consulted Google and Bristol Zoo experts after a teenager was attacked by a group of youths brandishing snakes.

The teenager was taken to hospital, Bristol for precautionary checks.

"Although the patient was suffering breathing difficulties after the attack, this was probably due to panic rather than a reaction to the bite," the spokesman said.
