A police helicopter was scrambled after a fight broke out when more than 100 people gatecrashed a party advertised on the social networking website Facebook, officers in the UK said today.

A police helicopter was scrambled after a fight broke out when more than 100 people gatecrashed a party advertised on the social networking website Facebook, officers in the UK said today.

Police were called to an address in Farnborough, Hampshire, at 10pm on Saturday and found about 100 people in the street, with about 30 involved in a brawl.

Officers, including dog handlers, took an hour and a half to disperse the crowd. Five people were arrested.
