Three killed in van crash with train
Authorities in Greece say three people in a van have been killed after their vehicle and a moving train were in collison at a railroad crossing.
Police say none the 58 passengers on the train was hurt in today’s crash near the northern city of Komotini, about 800 kilometres (500 miles) north-east of Athens.
The van crashed into the side of the train, causing one of the rail cars to come off the tracks.
The van had license plates from neighbouring Bulgaria, but the victims of the crash were not immediately identified.
Rail officials say barriers and warning lights at the crossing were in working order. The train had been travelling between the northern cities of Alexandroupolis and Thessaloniki.
