G8 leaders in $15bn aid pledge

Leaders of the G8 group of rich industrialised nations are expected to promise €15bn (€10bn) today to boost food security in the world’s poorest countries.

The expected pledge comes as Africa takes centre stage on the last day of the three-day G8 summit in L’Aquila, Italy.
