UK woman faces court as part of nursery sex abuse inquiry
A British woman arrested as part of an inquiry into child abuse allegedly committed by a female nursery worker will appear in court today charged with a number of child sex offences.
Angela Allen (aged 39) of Bulwell in Nottingham, will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court where a remand application will be made, police said.
She is charged with four counts of sexual assault, four counts of taking indecent photographs, four counts of possessing indecent photographs and four counts of distributing indecent photographs.
A 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old boy arrested in connection with the inquiry were released without charge.
Vanessa George (aged 39) who worked at Little Ted’s nursery in Plymouth, Devon, has already been charged with sexual assault and making and distributing indecent images of children.
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "The arrests came about as the result of information passed from Greater Manchester Police which led to Nottinghamshire Police applying for a search warrant to search an address in Nottingham.''
She said the force would "continue to liaise closely with Greater Manchester Police and Devon and Cornwall Constabulary as part of the investigation".
