UN stance on North Korea 'unprecedented'

The US ambassador to the United Nations is praising the international body’s newly-endorsed sanctions against North Korea in response to its recent nuclear tests.

Susan Rice told reporters today that “we’re very pleased” with the sanctions. She also called the new resolution, which was embraced by the UN with the support of China and Russia, an “unprecedented” position by the body.
