$1m thrown out in old mattress in Israel

Israeli workers were sifting through tons of rubbish today in a frantic search for an old mattress containing $1m (€710,000).

An Israeli woman bought her elderly mother a new mattress on Monday and threw out the old one – only to discover that her mother had hidden her life savings inside.
