LA detective accused of killing ex's wife
A veteran Los Angeles detective has been charged with murder regarding the killing of her ex-boyfriend’s wife.
Authorities say Stephanie Lazarus, 49, who investigates art thefts, was identified as a suspect through a recent DNA match.
Lazarus is accused of killing Sharri Rasmuessen, who was beaten and shot in her condominium in 1986.
Lazarus is charged with murder and using a handgun with the special circumstance of murder in commission of a burglary, which allows prosecutors to seek the death penalty if she is convicted.
