Eleven more swine flu cases confirmed in the UK
Another 11 cases of swine flu were confirmed in England today, bringing the UK total to 229, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) said.
The new patients include an adult and a child in London, whose infection was said to be “travel related”, as are four cases in the east of England.
Three children in the Midlands also have the illness, and the cause is under investigation by the HPA.
An adult in the north west, linked to another patient already confirmed as having the disease, has now developed swine flu.
Another two cases – one in Yorkshire and Humber and another in Scotland – are also travel-related.
