President Barack Obama telephoned New Zealand’s prime minister John Key to speak of the war in Afghanistan and co-operation on nuclear non-proliferation and human rights.

President Barack Obama telephoned New Zealand’s prime minister John Key to speak of the war in Afghanistan and co-operation on nuclear non-proliferation and human rights.

The White House said Mr Key and Mr Obama spoke on Wednesday, their first phone conversation since their elections to office last November.
