Dengue fever cases soar in Brazil

Brazil’s health authorities said the number of known dengue cases in the northeastern state of Bahia has soared by more than 250% so far this year.

A statement released by the state’s health department said 50,864 dengue cases were registered through April 10 – 266% more than in the same period last year.
