Spain cracks down on biker gang

Spanish police today arrested 22 suspected Hell’s Angels biker gang members in a crackdown across the country on racketeering and other offences.

The Civil Guard said most of the arrests took place near Barcelona. Others were in Madrid, Valencia, Malaga and the Canary Islands.

Police seized a kilogram of cocaine, firearms, ammunition and other material including Nazi paraphernalia in around 30 raids.

Police say the detainees also face charges of drug trafficking and arms possession.

Hell’s Angels gangs in Spain are believed to have links with those in the United States and elsewhere and traditionally use the gang’s trademark Harley Davidson motorcycles and studded leather jackets.
