Woman suspected of killing daughter and unborn foetus

A pregnant woman is suspected of killing her nine-year-old daughter and stabbing herself in the abdomen, killing her unborn foetus, US prosecutors confirmed today.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s office said 38-year-old Fang Chi Xue will now undergo a mental health evaluation.

The woman is suspected of killing the nine-year-old, stabbing herself and trying to strangle her 14-year-old daughter at their Quincy home.

She is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of assault with intent to murder.

Prosecutors say a medical examiner must determine whether the unborn foetus was viable outside the womb before they can consider a second murder charge.
