Pope celebrates Easter Mass
Pope Benedict XVI celebrated Easter Sunday Mass in a packed St Peter’s Square this morning.
Wearing golden vestments, Benedict passed through the square, blessing the crowd as a choir sang hymns.
Benedict is presiding over the Mass that professes the Catholic belief in Jesus Christ’s resurrection.
Last night, Benedict baptised five converts during the three-hour-long Easter vigil. Benedict sounded hoarse at the end of the service, but has otherwise held up well in the busy Holy Week ceremonies.
