Quake toll rises as three more bodies found
The death toll from this week’s major Italian earthquake today reached 275 after rescuers remove three bodies from a collapsed dormitory.
The removal of the three bodies effectively ends the search operation at the collapsed four-story dormitory. In all, seven students died in the dormitory in the devastated central Italian city of L’Aquila.
Rescuers say they are searching elsewhere in the city for about 10 people still missing.
Aftershocks continued to rattle survivors – nearly 18,000 of whom are living in tent camps around the stricken region. Another 10,000 have been put up in seaside hotels.
