N Korea: Satellite launch imminent

North Korea said today preparations to launch its controversial satellite were complete and lift-off was imminent.

The announcement came as US, Japanese and South Korean warships with radar patrolled waters near the communist nation to monitor what they fear is a long-range missile test.
