Clinton leaves Palestinians with promises

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton promised personal involvement in stalled Middle East peace efforts today as she criticised Israel’s demolition of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem.

Mrs Clinton also displayed strong public support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas who has steadily lost support at home after a year of inconclusive peace talks with Israel.
