Ski tourists escape cable car plunge

A group of skiers escaped with minor injuries when their chairlift snapped as it carried them up a Spanish mountain today.

Around 20 people fell several metres but thick snow cushioned the fall in the Sierra Nevada resort near Pradollano.

Most were treated for cuts and bruises and none needed to go to hospital.
