Good times will return, Obama tells US

America has reached a “day of reckoning” over its economy but will “rebuild”, “recover” and be “stronger than ever”, President Barack Obama said today.

In perhaps his most important speech since being sworn in, the president set out an ambitious agenda aimed at pulling the country out of deep recession and transforming its education and healthcare system.
