Little to celebrate as Mugabe turns 85

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe marked his 85th birthday today, but his beleaguered people had little reason to celebrate.

Zimbabwe’s once thriving economy has collapsed and official inflation is at 231 million%. About one quarter of its population has fled, and most of those who remain are dependent on food handouts.
