Plea to free ill Biggs

British Ministry of Justice officials were today urged to free one of the UK’s most notorious criminals, Ronnie Biggs, on compassionate grounds as he lay ill in hospital.

Great train robber Biggs, 79, was being treated for pneumonia at a hospital in Norwich tonight after being moved from his prison cell.
