Mother of octuplets leaves hospital

The Southern California woman who gave birth to octuplets last week was discharged from hospital today, officials said.

Hospital spokeswoman Nancy Tovar-Huxen said 33-year-old Nadya Suleman left Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Centre early today.

She gave no further details, citing the mother’s request for privacy.

Ms Suleman gave birth to six boys and two girls on January 26.

It was unclear whether she returned to her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Whittier where her six other children have been cared for by her parents.
