Police arrested at least 10 people suspected of forging passports and other documents for al-Qaida, Spanish media reported today.

Cadena SER radio and other media outlets said the arrests took place this morning in Barcelona.

The radio station said the suspects were from North African countries.

Cadena SER said no explosives were found and that police were searching for a printer used to forge passports.

Barcelona police could not immediately be reached for comment.

Police have carried out several operations against suspected al-Qaida supporters in Spain in recent years.
