Indian PM discharged after heart bypass surgery
Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh was released from hospital one week after undergoing heart bypass surgery.
Health minister Anbumani Ramadoss said Mr Singh is in a good condition and would be back at work in about three weeks.
Mr Ramadoss told reporters outside the New Delhi hospital: "He is on his way to a speedy recovery."
The 76-year-old leader - who has a history of heart problems - underwent more than 12 hours of surgery to bypass five blocked arteries.
Mr Singh has been prime minister since 2004. He had been expected to again be the Congress party's candidate for prime minister in elections that must be held before May. Doctors have said he will be able to campaign.
