Thaksin slams Thai government
Ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra accused the new Thai government of exploiting popular policies he had introduced.
Commenting on a series of economic stimulus projects designed to ward off crisis, the former Manchester City FC owner said the government still had to understand the philosophy of populism.
Mr Thaksin, self-exiled since overthrown in a 2006 military coup, said he was on an aircraft over international waters when he made a call.
The interview was broadcast on a satellite TV station right after prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva finished his weekly television broadcast.
