A British Airways plane made an emergency stop in Nigeria after pilots detected fumes in the cockpit, the airline said today.

A British Airways plane made an emergency stop in Nigeria after pilots detected fumes in the cockpit, the airline said today.

The airline said that flight BA 82 was heading to London from the Nigerian capital of Abuja when the pilots asked for a priority landing in Kano, in the northern part of the country.
