Joe Biden sworn-in as Vice President of the United States

Joe Biden has officially taken over from Dick Cheney as Vice-President of the US, after taking the oath of office in Washington this afternoon.

Mr Biden was sworn in on Capitol Hill in front of a crowd of hundreds of thousands, in advance of the inauguration of Barack Obama as President.
