US soldier among Afghan bomb dead

A US soldier was among at least five people killed today by a suicide car bomb attack on a heavily guarded road between the German Embassy and a US military base in the Afghan capital Kabul.

US military spokesman Col Jerry O’Hara said one US service member died from wounds received in the attack and that six American forces were injured along with one US civilian.
