Iraq’s minister of higher education escaped injury today when a roadside bomb exploded near his convoy in central Baghdad.

Iraq’s minister of higher education escaped injury today when a roadside bomb exploded near his convoy in central Baghdad.

No one in the convoy of minister Abed Theyab was injured in the attack but three civilian bystanders were wounded.

One government security guard was killed and four bystanders were injured when another bomb exploded on Nidal Street. The street is also in central Baghdad, near Tahrir Square.

That attack appeared to target a Housing Ministry convoy.
