Tourism officials in Australia’s Queensland state have been inundated with applications for what they’re billing as the Best Job in the World – a 150,000 Australian dollar (€75,475) contract to relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for six months.

Tourism officials in Australia’s Queensland state have been inundated with applications for what they’re billing as the Best Job in the World – a 150,000 Australian dollar (€75,475) contract to relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for six months.

Anthony Hayes, chief executive officer of Tourism Queensland, said today that the department had already received 2,000 applications for the job since it was posted on Monday.
