A helicopter owned by the Russian state gas giant Gazprom crashed in the mountains of Western Siberia, killing eight aboard, emergency officials said today.

Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said rescuers have also found three survivors at the site of the crash of the Mi-171 helicopter, near Chornaya Mountain in the rugged Altai region.
