Snorkeller feared eaten by shark
Facing strong winds and choppy seas, Australian authorities today halted their search for a missing man police suspect was eaten by a shark while snorkelling in Western Australia.
Brian Guest was looking for crabs early on Saturday morning with his 24-year-old son Daniel off a beach in Port Kennedy, about 30 miles south of Perth, when he suddenly disappeared.
Daniel told police he saw a commotion in the water before his father vanished, and witnesses reported seeing a shark rolling over and hearing a man shouting.
Searchers later discovered a piece of a wet suit believed to be Mr Guest’s in the water, not far from where he disappeared.
But by this morning, authorities still had found no trace of Mr Guest.
