Bruni's two-day wedding notice

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy revealed that her wedding to French President Nicolas Sarkozy was decided just two days in advance.

In a one-hour show pre-taped for television channel M6, Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy also recalled that she practised her curtsy for the Queen on a state visit this summer with rock singer Marianne Faithfull.

In her most informal interview since becoming France’s first lady, Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy said the last-minute decision to marry left her barely enough time to find a dress.

She said she chose the cream Hermes dress off the rack in one of the brand’s Paris stores.
