Protesters to hurl shoes to back Iraqi journalist

Canadians are being invited to hurl their footwear at Montreal’s US Consulate on Saturday in solidarity with an Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George Bush this week.

The event is being organised by Block the Empire, a Montreal-based anti-war protest group that regularly criticises Mr Bush’s foreign policy.
