Agreement reached on EU economic deal

EU leaders at a summit meeting in Brussels today reached agreement over a huge fiscal stimulus package today, worth around 1.5% of GDP of the bloc's 27 members or around €200bn.

Announcing the agreement, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: ``We will continue to reject the do-nothing approach. We will not stand by and let the recession take its course.
