Greek police prepare for union rallies as violence eases

Street violence eased early today after masked youths and looters rampaged through Greek cities for four days in an explosion of rage triggered by the police shooting of a teenager.

But police were prepared for new disturbances today, as unions planned rallies during a nationwide general strike against government economic policies.
